Week 62: December!

Well Happy 2nd of December to all of you!!!

the thing is that a year ago i was just entering Ixhuatan and well not knowing anything like the really tall sister in my picture, her name is Hermana or Sister Taylor and she is brand new and well she feels exactly like I felt a year ago Not knowing what anyone is saying and well figuring out that the Spanish she was taught isn't the same as the Spanish here. so i was just thinking that my now Zone leader Elder Picuasi really helped me all he could the thing I had to do was listen and wait patiently. and figure out what they where saying and know they cant get enough of me I talk a little too much sometimes but as it says in Alma 37:6 and 7  6 Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise. 7 And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.its really true the thing is just a little bit at a time and well then you can fly. a little bird didnt learn how to fly in its first try it falls then it trys to find its mother and asks a big snort then it finally finds its mother and well the mom helps a bit but more than anything its just trying over and over and over again. by small and simple things are great things brought to pass. the truth is that i cant hardly believe that its been a year but the truth is its been a great year. and well im looking foreword to the next thanksgiving at home so i can celebrate the holiday! so ya that was a very interesting thing i was thinking about this week and well Elder Picuasi told me, Wow Elder you are doing a lot better and well the both of us are skinnier haha they gave us a lot to eat in Ixhuatan but we both miss it a bit but its a very treasured memory for us. so ya its been great and well walking down memory lane a bit with him has been fun as well.

Another thing I was thinking about this week was mostly about something My dad sent me last week. its about the strippling warriors my dad says this,

But behold, they have received many wounds; nevertheless they stand fast in that liberty wherewith God has made them free; and they are strict to remember the Lord their God from day to day; yea, they do observe to keep his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments continually; and their faith is strong in the prophecies concerning that which is to come.  Alma 58:40

At a critical moment in the battle of Waterloo, when everything depended on the steadiness of the soldiery, an anxious courier dashed into the presence of the Duke of Wellington, announcing that unless the troops were immediately relieved or withdrawn, they must yield before the impending assault of the French army. The Duke replied, "Stand firm!"

"But we shall perish!" remonstrated the officer.

"Stand firm!" again was the answer of the iron hearted Duke.

"You'll find us there!" rejoined the courier, as he galloped away.

And, of course, the British were victorious that day as a result of such loyalty and determination (see Walter Baxendale, ed., Dictionary of Anecdote, Incident, Illustrative Fact, New York: Thomas Whittaker, 1889, p. 225).

Today another battle of far more serious consequence is being waged. It is a battle being fought for the souls of men. Its outcome likewise depends on the steadiness of the soldiery. The clarion call of the chieftain is heard above the fierce artillery of the archenemy, "Stand firm! Be true!"

Brothers and sisters, I am grateful that most within the sound of my voice are standing firm and remaining true to the kingdom of God. Like Helaman's stripling warriors, "they stand fast in that liberty wherewith God has made them free; and they are strict to remember the Lord their God from day to day; yea, they do observe to keep his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments continually; and their faith is strong in the prophecies concerning that which is to come" (Alma 58:40). I am referring to those members of the Church who live their Christian beliefs in the quiet commonplace of their daily lives.

its very interesting how the two types of warriors where stead fast and immovable and they knew what they where fighting for the truth is are we like them? are we steadfast and immovable and always abounding in the will of the lord? i sure Hope so.. This battle is which we are raging is not one of just truth and right its who is on the lords side? who is willing to just fight for the lord? I am and am trying to do the best I can but we always need more people and well that's where we get the references and well who do you know who wants to fight for the lord? then let them know the front line warriors will be at their house soon. haha the thing is the lord needs everyone so look for the best recruits we can have and well they will be use full on god army. the best part of being on the lords army is that you get to have the best armor the armor of god! what else do you want? to defeat the devil what else do you need other than the best army  the world has. just make sure you put it on. keep strong and keep steady and the lord will help you in all things.

hope all is well where you are and hope you have a great week!!! hopefully it will stay warm not hot warm this week and well the weather we have been having its like a roller coaster up and down and up and down wow its crazy!!!

Love you all!!
